About the awards

25 Years of Excellence logo

In 2010, the CIPR Excellence Awards will celebrate 25 years of recognising public relations success.

The Excellence Awards have grown significantly year on year as companies and organisations of all sizes recognise the benefits of industry awards, and winners reap the benefits of receiving them.

Reaching the shortlist or winning an award puts you and your work in the spotlight – highlighting your success to your peers, your clients and your competitors. Industry awards give you a competitive edge – helping you to win new business and retain your client accounts. If you’re based in-house, your achievement demonstrates to the rest of your organisation just how valuable your public relations work is.

Fact: Award wins help the bottom line

In a study by University of Leicester for the British Quality Foundation and the European Foundation for Quality Management, award winning companies showed an improved financial performance after just one year of winning their first award. After three years, the benefits were even greater.

Think about your achievements this year and when you’ve decided which categories to enter, take a look at the section on how to enter.

“Awards are an important benchmark for agencies, campaigns and in-house teams. People and businesses like to work with winners. Awards are one way of showing that what you do is valuable and stands up to independent scrutiny.”
